In conjunction with Russell Scibetti (@rscibetti), Director of Relationship & Database Marketing at New York Jets and Founder at thebusinessofsports.com, Sports Geek is hosting a Sportsbiz Networking Night at Honey Bar, South Melbourne.  I was lucky enough to finally meet Russell IRL (In Real Life) at SEAT Conference in Boston last year.

Despite the success of the #TwitterBrekky events in Melbourne and Sydney, many people missed out on an opportunity to network as they had to head off to work after the event (or it was simply too early to network for some).   Here is another chance to go out and network as it was intended – after work with a cold beverage in hand.

All backgrounds are welcome, from those just starting out to industry veterans.

Russell has done a great job running Networking Nights in the USA for the past few years and we saw him announce a big initiative last week via his blog.

I am VERY excited to announce that on Wednesday, January 23, we will be hosting The Business of Sports Networking Events in multiple cities all across the country!

As Melbourne is the Sporting Capital of the World (apologies readers from other cities I'll happily debate this next time we meet) we thought we should host a networking event in Melbourne soon after the San Francisco event hosted by Laura King (@lk) from Twitter.

The Business Of Sports – Melbourne Networking event is scheduled for Thursday, January 24 from 6:00 to 9:00PM at the Honey Bar (345 Clarendon Street, South Melbourne – www.honeybar.com.au).  Thanks to Steve Vallas from @thehoneybar for providing a terrific venue.

The event is part of Russell's “Night of Networking Events” where networking events are scheduled in multiple cities and now in multiple countries all on the same two nights.

Multi-City Global event

So far, events are scheduled for Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Minneapolis, New York, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia and San Francisco in the U.S. and Melbourne and Mumbai internationally.   Here is the full list of all participating cities. If you can attend the Melbourne event, please complete the RSVP form Please pass this information along to any friends and colleagues who would be interested in attending the Melbourne networking night or any of the nights being hosted around the globe. Tweet us below if you're going to attend and we'll add you to our Twitter list for the event like we did for #TwitterBrekky.
